lara frankl

We spotted an amazing necklace around Lara's neck at the Elle Awards!
Curious as we are we immediately bombarded her with questions!
Were did you get? Who's it by?What stones are those....

And we were very exited to hear that she made it herself and even more exited to hear that she was starting a collection so that we could buy it !

So here it is!
Her collection!

There are 3 themes
Bois de Pharell
Falling in Noir
Gabriell

Plenty of necklaces for you to get exited about as well!

Zadig & Voltaire X Erin Wasson

oooooow
What a good day for me!
One of my favourite model's Erin Wasson
in collaboration with Zadig &Voltaire(where if you didn't knew I work)
so exited about this but at the same time so obvious!!!

Like ceo Thierry Gillier said in vogue:

"I wanted a girl with a strong universe. Moreover, I wanted to come back to the brand's DNA. Erin is more than a supermodel, she is resolutely rock'n'roll and she is the incarnation of the relaxed chic that is the Zadig &Voltaire trademark."

Erin will be the face of the summer 2011 campaign, so also for the fall/winter and later this year she will launch a capsule collection
of 20 pieces...
very rock of course, with leather pants, colt leather jackets in black &white, a lot of jersey,...
and some good erin's attitude.

Campaign pics coming up!!!

a french press, please!

A french press it's called?
didn't knew that...
altough I have one of those 'coffee making equipments'(the way I named it,hmmm)
 in my kitchen closet!

Never ever used it before, but when I came across this little movie...
I can't wait it's morning to make myself this deliciously looking cup of some damn good coffee!

and tell me what's more fantastic?
just two very simple ingredients: water & some good gridded coffee beans making such a perfect match to the perfect drink!

One for the boys or us!!

quote of the day...

Ed Rusha

Went to see Somewhere, Sofia Copolla's new movie, last night.

Don't know if you spotted it, but there was an artwork of Ed Rusha in Johnny's room!
Aaaaargh! Must book that room in Chateau Marmont!

His painting 'OOF' is one of my favorites!
Don't ask my why!
And this summer while being in Stockholm there was a whole exibition of his work in the ModernMuseet!
What a great surprise!!
My 'OOF' was city tripping as well!!

TO DO: Watch Somewhere by Sofia Copolla

Rose Bakery in Paris

You just have to say 'Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese' and I'm there!!
So of course when in Paris, I just had to go to the Rose Bakery!

Rose Bakery is what happens when you mix a little English ( she: Rose Carrarini) with a little French ( him Jean Charles).
You get a great little bakery, filled with all kinds of goodness, that is kicking some french toast, macarons and baguette ass!!

Macarons...what?

Don't have the chance to visit their bakery...
Get the book online at Phaidon!
You will even find some of their recipes on the site!
So you have no excuse whatsoever not to try that carrot cake!!

CARROT CAKE:
INGREDIENTS
unsalted butter, for greasing
4 eggs
225g (generous 1 cup) caster (superfine) sugar
300ml (1¼ cups) sunflower oil
9 medium carrots, finely grated
300g (2 cups) plain (all-purpose) flour, sifted
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 rounded teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
½ teaspoon salt
150g (1½ cups) finely chopped walnuts

For the icing
125g (generous ½ cup) unsalted butter, softened
250g (generous 1 cup) cream cheese
½ teaspoon natural vanilla extract
50 –75g (½ – ¾ cup) icing (confectioner’s) sugar, depending on how sweet you like your icing

METHOD
Preheat the oven to 180ºC/350ºF/Gas Mark 4. Butter a 23cm (9inch) cake tin and line its base with parchment paper.
Beat the eggs and caster sugar until they are light and fluffy but not too white and meringue-like. Pour in the oil and beat for a few more minutes.
Fold in the carrots and then the flour with the cinnamon, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt. Finally fold in the walnuts.
Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and bake for about 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and cool the cake in the tin before taking it out.
To make the icing, beat the butter with the cream cheese for a few minutes till the mixture is smooth. Add the vanilla extract and icing sugar.
When the cake is cold, ice the top with the icing – it can be as smooth or rough as you like.
